What I do

My ADHD practice

My ADHD practice includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medication initiation, titration and ongoing clinical review, where clinically appropriate.

Assessment

Structured ADHD assessment for children and adults.

Diagnosis

Clear feedback on what the assessment shows.

Treatment

A treatment plan agreed with you and your family.

Medication initiation

Medication started where clinically appropriate.

Titration

Careful dose titration with monitoring along the way.

Ongoing clinical review

Regular reviews as needs, age and circumstances change.

My approach

“Good ADHD care should go beyond identifying symptoms.”

It should consider the whole child — their development, their strengths, their family, their education and the wider circumstances affecting their wellbeing.

That is how I work with every family: looking beyond a list of difficulties to understand the child in front of me, the people around them, and what would genuinely help next.

Safeguarding & advocacy

Getting needs understood

I also have over 10 years’ experience as a Safeguarding Lead, giving me extensive experience of working with children, families and vulnerable adults where health, social or safeguarding needs may be complex.

This safeguarding background is particularly important to the way I practise. Children, young people and vulnerable adults can sometimes find it difficult to make their needs understood or to navigate healthcare, education and other services.

A clinical perspective

Where appropriate, I can provide a clinical perspective on what an individual needs.

Help communicating needs

Helping families put those needs clearly and accurately into words.

Advocacy for support

Advocating for appropriate support and reasonable adjustments, with the individual's wellbeing and rights at the centre of their care.

As both a doctor and a parent

“I want parents to feel listened to rather than judged.”

I understand the worry that comes with knowing your child needs support but not necessarily knowing where to turn or what the right next step should be.

You know your child extremely well, and your experience forms an important part of understanding what is happening.

Above all, I want children and their parents to feel heard, understood and supported, and to leave an assessment with a clearer understanding of their child’s difficulties, their strengths and what we can do next.

Where I see patients

The clinic

My face-to-face clinic is based at Chester Wellness Centre on Wrexham Road in Chester, approximately 5 miles from the Welsh border, making it particularly accessible for families travelling from Wrexham and across North Wales, as well as Chester, Cheshire and the Wirral.
