Pelvic floor and bladder symptoms are common, distressing, and frequently under-treated. Many women are told they are an inevitable part of ageing, childbirth, or menopause — when in reality, effective assessment and treatment options exist.

Dr Nancy Allen provides expert, evidence-based care for urinary incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, and bladder symptoms, with particular expertise in menopause-related and hormone-mediated conditions. Appointments are unhurried, comprehensive, and focused on restoring comfort, confidence, and quality of life.

Women in Chester frequently seek help for urinary incontinence, bladder urgency, pelvic floor weakness, and prolapse, particularly during perimenopause and menopause. These symptoms are often under-recognised or dismissed, yet effective medical and hormonal treatments are available.

RING PESSARIES AND PROLAPSE SUPPORT

A ring pessary is a soft, medical-grade silicone device inserted into the vagina to provide internal support to the pelvic organs. It works by lifting and supporting the vaginal walls and cervix, helping to restore normal pelvic anatomy.

In women with second-degree uterovaginal prolapse, a ring pessary can:

• Lift the uterus and vaginal walls back into a more anatomical position

• Reduce the sensation of vaginal heaviness or dragging

• Improve bladder neck support, reducing stress urinary incontinence

• Improve urinary emptying and urgency symptoms

Ring pessaries are a non-surgical, reversible option and can be used long-term or as a bridge to surgery if required. Many women use them safely and comfortably for years.
